That Was School, This is Work

YAY! EEK! I just landed a large instructional design contract with a medial training company.

My first project is to take their PowerPoint and other materials they use in live training to teach medical personnel about HIPAA and turn it into a self-paced course in the LMS of their choice. YAY!

Now for the EEK! part. I remember in my ID courses at Walden that one of the worst things that people often do is simply make a movie of a PowerPoint presentation with whatever is said being the audio. My gut tells me that this is what my customer is picturing. But I know from previous ID courses that this is not effective. EEK! Luckily I found this resource in my PLN that I must have come across once upon awhile ago.

If Not PowerPoint, then What?

It is interesting when we use what we learn. It is scary. I like to get paid to be scared.

What do you put in your training videos other than PowerPoint bullets?
