Planning Collaborative Learning Online
Good planning is based on sound theories. In this week’s
reading, you have read about different frameworks that describe the phases a
group goes through in an online course. Consider these structures in creating
your own.
Your reading of this week: Chapter 13: Assessing Online
Interaction and Collaboration, Oosterhof, A., Conrad, R.-M., & Ely, D. P.
(2008). Assessing learners online. Upper Saddle River, NJ: Pearson.
Consider the three framework examples of the phases on
online collaboration presented in this chapter. Create your own idea of what a
group’s collaborative phases might be as you anticipate a course you could teach.
What are the key steps you need to take to set up the group work?
How will you assess the group’s work?
When during the process will the assessments occur?
Submit your first response by Friday an respond to at least
two other students by Saturday.
Hi Gary,
ReplyDeleteSetting up online groups is an activity where you should consider several elements, from the subject of the course, the size of the group, the level of experience within the students, the activity that is requested to perform, etc.
In a course that is well planned and organized is easy to understand and to recognize what is expected from the instructor and the student, and I do believe that a good start planning will lead us to a successful learning experience.
